Christmas in Pittsburgh 2012
Pittsburgh, PA - Events of Tuesday, December 25, 2012On Christmas day, we opened gifts around Lora and J. Michael's tree in the morning. One of Margery's favorite gifts was a new mouse pad that she has been desperately needing for some time now. It was from Lora and J. Michael, and Lora had it printed with a great picture the two of them with their dogs and with their trailer in the background. It was taken on one of the trips when we met up with them in Berlin, OH. Another of Margery's favorites was a fashion scarf in a leopard pattern.
One of Paul's favorites was an amaryllis bulb planting kit. He is looking forward to some beautiful flowers inside the motor home. He also got some AC Delco Quick Detailer, which will be great for maintaining the shine on our new car.
One of the things Lora got J. Michael was an Angry Birds golf club cover. Freeway was intrigued.
Of course, the puppies weren't left out of the gift giving.
One of the best ways to keep them busy is with peanut butter-filled bones.
This was Freeway's first Christmas, and he got into the act with some gifts, too.
It didn't take Freeway long to figure out how to rip the gifts open.
The toy in the next photo was especially popular. The dogs were pretty good with sharing, but sometimes a human had to step in to tell them whose turn was next.
J. Michael is very creative in his gift giving. He ordered a custom-made, front license plate for Lora with the name of her Mary Kay sales unit on it. Lora was thrilled.
J. Michael also has excellent taste. Guys, how many of you would dare to buy your wife shoes or fashion boots? Well, J. Michael had the courage to buy boots for Lora. Not only did they fit, but she was very pleased with the style.
The three of us (Margery, Paul and Lora) got J. Michael an electronic dart board. This particular model not only talks to announce the score, but it also trash talks if you miss.
In the afternoon on Christmas, L. Michael's mom had the family over to her house for dinner followed by the family gift exchange.
After a delicious dinner of ham, potatoes au gratin, and salad, we all headed downstairs to open gifts. In addition to the gift exchange, there was plenty of fun telling stories, joking and clowning. Someone pulled out some silly glasses that had big eyes printed semi-transparently on the lenses. A bunch of us had fun trying them on.
As you can probably tell, J. Michael's family has a lot of fun. We are so blessed to be included.
After Christmas, we had a few more days before we headed back to Florida. Look for our next post to see what we were up to.
