You were very lucky that it happened when it did. It could have caused a bad accident. I think we'll go check the bracket on our toad!

So glad everything is ok. We once lost a boat axle in a similar situation. . .we had been pulling it down the highway at about 55 mph or so. . .and had just turned off. While going very slowly over a railroad track, the entire axle came loose from the trailer. . .so I know the feeling of thankfulness you have, that your incident did not happen in that heavy traffic. . .your guardian angels have set a watch round about you!
