I really enjoyed your trip to see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. . .at one time, I owned the entire collection of her books. She was my favorite writer, and as a child, I read her books over and over.

We rarely make reservations also, BUT for the 4th, we decided we better. After reading this, I am glad we did. So glad you got a site and a good night's sleep...LOL

Pa & Ma actually bought the dugout from a Norwegian man, I think Mr. Hanson, though it's been a long time since I read it. The books are so marvelous and there are later books from Rose and Laura telling even more about them. I agree they should be required reading, but my favorite memories are of me and my mom lying on the living room floor when I was 3 reading them to eachother. :-) I'm glad you stopped there and had fun. Happy trails.

Thank you for doing this! I am a third grade teacher and I used your site to share your pictures during our biography unit. My grade level readers started out reading about Laura Ingalls Wilder. My hope is that this generation will enjoy the LIttle House on the Prairie series as we have!!
